All of our Educators are required to have, at minimum, a B.A., and 5 years of experience working with children. In addition, Teachers complete a rigorous 4 week training prior to joining a classroom as a Co-Lead or Assistant Teacher. During these initial 4 weeks, Teachers spend half of the day assisting and observing in classrooms, and half of the day in training which covers everything from our curriculum, observation & assessment techniques and guidance & discipline methods, to emergency preparedness and family engagement.
OUR TEACHERS EVALUATIONS ARE GUIDED BY 4 VALUES
We understand the importance of highly experienced, engaged, and intentional Educators, and what a difference this makes to the life of a young learner. We pay our Teachers well above average salaries, pay 100% of their medical/dental/vision premiums, offer 3 weeks of time off each year, provide support and resources throughout the day, and allow Teachers the opportunities to participate in ongoing professional development.
Teachers engaging with children: asking questions, getting on their level, and participating in purposeful play, games, art and activities.
Teachers respecting the child's learning process, choices, personality and passions and demonstrating respect for themselves, our center and our world.
Teachers joyfully interacting with children out of a genuine love and appreciation for them as individuals.
Teachers patiently allow children to express themselves verbally, artistically, physically and imaginatively.
